How to Prepare for Your Brazilian Wax
LET YOUR HAIR GROW FOR 10-14 Days
Trim/Shave: 10 to 14 days before. Allow hair to grow to the length of a grain of rice ((1/4 inch).
TRIM IF HAIR IS EXCESSIVELY LONG
We do not trim in studio, so if hair is significantly overgrown, trim carefully before your appointment.
EXFOLIATE 48 HOURS BEFORE
Use a gentle scrub or exfoliating glove to remove buildup and help reduce ingrown hairs.
STOP RETINOIDS:
5 to 7 days before. Discontinue topical exfoliants near the bikini line to avoid skin tearing.
AVOID TANNING:
2 days before. Do not expose the area to sun or tanning beds to prevent hypersensitivity.
AVOID CAFFEINE, ALCOHOL, AND NICOTINE THE DAY OF YOUR WAX
These can increase sensitivity and make the appointment less comfortable.
DO NOT COME DIRECTLY AFTER A WORKOUT
Fresh sweat, friction, and heat can irritate the follicles. Waxing immediately after exercise can increase the risk of folliculitis. Please arrive with calm, cool, clean skin.
ON YOUR MENSTURAL CYCLE? PLEASE RESCHEDULE
We do not complete appointments while clients are on their menstrual cycle. This helps maintain comfort, hygiene, and the best waxing experience possible. Please book for after your cycle ends. Visit FAQ
WEAR LOOSE CLOTHING
Freshly waxed skin needs space to breathe. Tight clothing can create friction and irritation.
GOING ON VACATION? HAVE A SPECIAL EVENT?
For best results, schedule your wax 3 days before travel or an event so skin has time to settle and you can enjoy smooth skin confidently.
Before Your Appointment: When to Reschedule
For your safety, there are times when waxing should be avoided or postponed. Skin health always comes first.
Please reschedule your appointment if you have:
Open cuts, sores, or broken skin
Sunburned or recently tanned skin
Active rash, irritation, or allergic reaction
Cold sores, warts, or any contagious skin condition
A recent chemical peel, laser treatment, or aggressive exfoliation
Use of Accutane in the last 12 months
You are currently on your menstrual cycle
Use Caution — Let Us Know Before Your Appointment
Please inform us prior to your service if you:
Are pregnant or diabetic
Have an autoimmune condition or skin condition (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis)
Have had a recent surgery or have scar tissue in the treatment area
What to Expect After Your First Wax
Your first Brazilian may not remove every hair because hair grows in different cycles. Most clients see smoother, longer-lasting results after 3–4 consistent appointments.
To help reduce ingrown hairs, buildup, and irritation:
Exfoliate 2–3 times per week
Keep the skin hydrated
Use products made for intimate skin care
Consistent waxing and proper home care help support healthier-looking skin over time.
Brazilian Wax Benefits
-
Waxing isn’t just hair removal—it also exfoliates the skin by removing dead surface buildup. So you’re not just getting smooth, hair-free skin, you’re also getting a skin-focused treatment at the same time.
-
After your wax, your skin will feel noticeably smoother. That’s because hair is removed from the root while dead skin buildup is also lifted away.
-
Removing hair from the root means slower regrowth and longer-lasting smooth skin compared to shaving.
-
Over time, hair grows back finer, softer, and more sparse with consistent waxing.
-
Many hair removal methods can irritate the skin. At VHH, we focus on skin-first care—every Brazilian includes a cooling mask and targeted serums to calm, support, and strengthen your skin after hair removal.
Aftercare Essentials
You can get a great wax, but without proper aftercare, irritation, ingrown hairs, bumps, and dark marks can return.
Most results come from how you care for your skin at home between appointments.
Aftercare products are available to help:
Hydrate and support the skin barrier
Reduce buildup and ingrown hairs
Support brighter-looking skin
Calm dryness and irritation after hair removal
Consistent home care helps support healthier-looking intimate skin over time.
